October Harvest Festival
Create memories, create traditions. It’s pumpkin picking time. Fall harvest season is a popular time to visit farms and our farm’s focus each October is celebrating the bounty from our fields especially pumpkins.
Each weekend in October is festival time
Mmmmm, candy apples, gingerbread cookies and other great treats of the fall season. We have lots of extra fun stuff happening each weekend in October along with the usual activities that we offer throughout our season. So come on out; relax and enjoy a fun filled time with family and friends.
Daily Activities
- Enjoy our two farmyard playgrounds with lots of room for the kids to run, straw maze and a really neat sandbox and tricycle track.
- There are farm animals to visit, a hayloft to jump in and a tractor and train to play on.
- Challenge your family members to a race in our obstacle course, the Barnyard Bedlam.
- We’re maze crazy!!!!!
We are once again participating in Ontario Farm Fresh Marketing Association’s MAZE CRAZE. It is an initiative of the association, of which we are members, to team up farms with maze activities. Check out www.mazecraze.ca for more details.
Don’t miss out on our 2-acre corn maze. Find your fortune by letting your fingers do the talking. Confused? Check it out. It gives getting lost in a cornfield a whole new meaning.
Our rope maze themed “Wheat from the Farm to the Table” is a challenging one for any age. Think it’s easy? Race to the centre to Little Red Hens house - no cheating is allowed.
- We also offer you an opportunity to learn with all of our great farm animal fact boards.
Weekend activities
All the above activities PLUS (weather permitting)
- Wagon rides to our Enchanted Forest (approx. 10:00 am till 4:00pm) where a walk through the woods will captivate your imagination with the storybook scenes along the way. It’s a walk that will enchant young and old.
- Talk with our farm educator. They’re on the farm to make your visit more interactive and help you understand better where your food comes from. Calling all kids 8 to 12 years old. Come at 9:00am and be a junior farmer by helping our farm educator get the animals fed and ready for the day.
Our special October Festival activities included with admission -
- Horse drawn wagon rides (begin Thanksgiving weekend, approx time 11:30 till 3:30)
- Balloon Typhoon
- Bouncing Buckaroos
- Puppet variety show
Activities available for an extra charge-
- Pony rides (Sundays and Thanksgiving Monday 11-3pm)
- Pumpkins – you can pick your own from our fields or from already picked piles around the farm and in our pumpkin corral. Charge for pumpkins is by the pound.
