Sweet Corn is Here
Summer is progressing quickly and the harvest continues. Fresh picked peaches and cream sweet corn is now available in our Markham farm market. Our corn is fresh each day and is delicious. The sweet corn is early this year along with the other crops due to the warm spring and hot summer nights. Just the weather corn loves.
Fresh picked raspberries are now available but their season will end close to mid July due to this heat. It’s best to get the raspberries while you can.
Green and yellow bean season has begun. They’re in the market fresh picked or pick your own from our fields. Phone for up to date picking conditions.
Our market also has a great selection of fruit from Niagara and a wide selection of other produce to help make your summer meals great. There are always delicious goodies in the bakery.
Our naturally raised beef, chicken and pork is very popular. We have a variety of meat available in our freezer. The beef cuts depend on the season and right now we have a lot of beef patties ready for the BBQ. By August we’ll start gearing up for the fall with stew beef and roasts. We always have a good supply of lean ground beef, it fits all seasons.
Our roasting chickens are very limited in supply so we have a call list for when they are ready. Ask to join the list if you are interested in buying fresh, roasting chicken. We’ll also be taking orders beginning late August for fresh, free range Thanksgiving turkeys.

We’re Looking Forward to the Fall
Fall is traditionally the time we think of the farm. Summer harvest is coming to a peak just in time for Thanksgiving. With the kids back in school it’s nice to have a place to visit close to home. Our fall is filled with fun activities.
Our 2-acre Corn Maze opens LabourDay weekend. Enter it if you dare. Farmer Jim’s been really tricky as usual this year giving us a lot of pathways to get lost in. The corn is growing tall and will be over 8 feet tall by September. There’s nothing like being in a cornfield seeing only corn and sky.
October is Harvest Festival month with each weekend full
of even more great farm fun. Festival activities include – horse drawn wagon rides, pony rides each October Sunday, the Balloon Typhoon, Bouncing Buckaroos and more. This year we will have a puppet show to delight young and old. More details are coming. A special admission price applies to our October Harvestfest.
Pick your own pumpkins in October. The crop is currently looking good. Along with the other activities available we’ve got lots of pumpkins in the patch for picking. We will also have a good supply of already picked pumpkins.
Our farming season ends in December with Christmas Trees. Our farm smells like an evergreen forest with our beautiful selection of Balsam and Fraser fir trees along with Spruce and Pine. It’s a special time to enjoy the coming of Christmas.
